Duties
- Manage daily shop operations, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and ensuring timely completion of repairs.
- Supervise service technicians, mechanics, and support staff to maintain high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee vehicle diagnostics, collision repair processes, transmission work, brake repairs, suspension systems, tire services, shocks & struts, oil changes, air brake systems, and other automotive repairs.
- Utilize estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools to prepare accurate repair estimates and service writing documentation.
- Drive upselling initiatives by identifying additional services or repairs that benefit the customer while increasing shop revenue.
- Maintain strong client communication throughout the repair process to ensure transparency and build trust.
- Handle cash transactions responsibly and manage parts inventory efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with dealership standards and automotive safety regulations.
- Lead efforts in maintaining a clean, organized workspace that promotes safety and productivity.
Skills
- Proven experience in automotive repair with a solid understanding of mechanical systems and diagnostics.
- Strong background in auto service management with familiarity in estimating software and service writing.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients about repairs and costs.
- Demonstrated ability in upselling services to maximize revenue while providing value to customers.
- Knowledge of dealership operations, collision repair procedures, transmissions, oil changes, tire services, suspension work, brake repairs, shocks & struts, air brakes, and other key automotive systems.
- Experience with auto estimating tools such as computer-aided vehicle damage estimating software is highly desirable.
- Leadership skills to motivate technicians and support staff effectively while managing multiple priorities.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for occasional driving duties related to vehicle inspections or test drives.
