Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Smog and Auto Repair Technician to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will be able to perform Smog Inspections and have Automotive repair skills. (Brakes, Maintenance, Tune Ups Etc) Candidates are responsible for performing emissions testing and ensuring vehicles meet state and federal environmental standards. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle systems, mechanical knowledge, and proficiency with various tools. The Smog Technician plays a vital role in maintaining vehicle compliance and supporting overall vehicle maintenance operations.

We are looking for candidates who can perform both smog inspections and help with auto repairs in a busy shop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct emissions tests on a variety of vehicle makes and models using specialized diagnostic equipment
  • Diagnose and repair issues related to vehicle emissions systems, including catalytic converters, oxygen sensors, and exhaust components
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and automotive repair equipment to perform necessary repairs or adjustments
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as inspections, fluid checks, and minor repairs as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of testing results and repairs performed for each vehicle
  • Ensure all work complies with environmental regulations and safety standards
  • Handle heavy lifting of vehicle parts or equipment safely and efficiently

Experience

  • Current Smog License Required
  • Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair
  • Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures and automotive systems
  • Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment in an automotive setting

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
