Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Generalist (HR Generalist) to support day-to-day human resources operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance, supporting employees and upholding company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate is approachable, organized, and confident handling sensitive employee matters with professionalism and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve employee time-off requests in accordance with company policies
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (California regulations)
- Address and investigate employee complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Support performance management processes, including evaluations, corrective action and documentation
- Interpret, apply, and help enforce company policies and procedures consistently
- Conduct and support HR compliance audits to ensure adherence to labor laws and internal standards
- Audit clinical documentation to ensure required client signatures, session notes, and service records are completed accurately and on time by clinical staff.
- Collect, verify, and monitor required employee documentation (e.g., licenses, certifications, onboarding paperwork, mandatory trainings)
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
- Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related questions and concerns
- Assist and support with employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, and personnel file maintenance
- Assist and support recruiting process, including screening, interviewing and hiring coordination
- Assist with company events coordination as needed
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma (Required)
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and compliance requirements (State of California)
- Working knowledge of federal employment laws
- Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
- High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
- Prior experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role; experience in the healthcare field or behavioral health settings (strongly preferred)
- Knowledge of employment & labor law, affirmative action planning, and OSHA regulations to ensure legal compliance across all HR functions.

Pay Range: 66K - 72K
