Overview
The role of the Autism Center’s Lead BCBA is a dual-function leadership role responsible for both clinical excellence and daily site operations. This position combines the responsibilities of a BCBA and Site Director into one on-site role.
The Lead BCBA is physically present at the clinic Monday–Friday from 7:45 AM to 4:45 PM and is expected to be fully prepared to perform any clinical or operational duty required during those hours, including but not limited to direct clinical services, staff supervision, parent communication, intake coordination, scheduling oversight, hiring, discipline, and facility oversight.
This role maintains an active BCBA caseload while simultaneously ensuring the clinic operates safely, efficiently, ethically, and in compliance with BACB, HIPAA, OSHA, Illinois Department of Labor, and payer requirements.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Required: Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech and Hearing Services, or other related field.
- Required: Current BCBA certification and active Illinois LBA
- Preferred: Minimum 5 years of post-certification experience working with individuals aged 0-21 in a classroom or 1:1 setting; experience implementing and supervising the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
- Preferred: Minimum 3 years post graduate experience managing masters-level clinicians
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to lift and carry clients with adaptive equipment.
- Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be willing and able to utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behavior.
- Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection.
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different job sites.
- Must maintain professionalism as a representative of the standards of quality provided by the Autism Center.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a minimum caseload of 100 billable hours per month
- Design, implement, and oversee ABA treatment programs
- Provide direct supervision to RBTs in accordance with BACB standards
- Conduct parent and caregiver training
- Complete treatment integrity checks and RBT competency assessments
- Oversee authorizations, utilization, and supervision requirements
- Collaborate with schools, physicians, and other providers
- Ensure all services align with BACB ethics and evidence-based practices
- Collect, analyze, and summarize client data
- Provide mentorship to RBTs, BCBAs, and trainees
- Hire, onboard, train, supervise, discipline, and terminate staff in compliance with policy and law
- Conduct performance check-ins and reviews
- Ensure adherence to SOPs across all staff
- Address attendance, professionalism, and policy violations
- Maintain documentation related to performance and discipline
- Oversee intake coordination and client onboarding
- Ensure timely response to inquiries and smooth transition into services
- Serve as the primary on-site escalation point for families and stakeholders
- Address concerns professionally and promptly
- Maintain visible, engaged presence with families
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, providers, and community partners
- Conduct in-services and outreach as needed
- Represent the clinic at community events and meetings
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs
- Perform minor facility tasks as needed (e.g., hanging shelves)

- Utilize safe & appropriate handling procedures when working with clients.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA laws.
- Protect the intellectual property of the Autism Center.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of state and federal regulations as well as insurance and funding source requirements.
- Working knowledge of OBM and ABA best practices.
- Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with Autism Center staff, Autism Center administration, clients, collaborative professionals, supervisors, teachers, stakeholder clients, and clients.
- Responsible for completing and maintaining all required certifications and trainings once employed including, but not limited to CPR, Fingerprinting & Background Checks, BCBA Certification and other company trainings as directed by supervisor.
- Ability to interpret and implement clinical protocols and written clinical documents.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA laws.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
