Position Summary:
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is responsible for providing direct, 1:1 ABA therapy services to clients under the supervision of a BCBA. The RBT plays a vital role in implementing treatment plans, collecting data, and helping clients acquire new skills and reduce maladaptive behaviors in home, school, clinic, and community settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans created by a BCBA
- Provide 1:1 direct therapy using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques
- Collect and record accurate data on client progress and behavior
- Assist with assessments under the direction of a BCBA
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, parents, and team members
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions
- Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA and ethical standards
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- RBT certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) (highly preferred but will train and assist in obtaining)
- At least 6 months experience working with children, preferably in an ABA or special education setting (preferred)
- Ability to pass a background check
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Reliable transportation and punctuality
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work with children who may engage in challenging behaviors
- May involve kneeling, stooping, and engaging in physical play with clients
- Sessions may occur in a client’s home, school, or clinic setting
