Here at Autism Behavior Academics, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) to provide one-on-one behavioral support to children and young adults with developmental disabilities, ages 0–21. This is a hands-on, community-based position focused on implementing individualized behavior intervention plans and supporting clients in reaching their developmental and behavioral goals.
This is a lead-level position, where you will be responsible for managing a caseload of approximately 2–4 clients, providing consistent, high-quality direct services in home, school, and community settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct, one-on-one behavioral intervention services (30 hours per week)
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans with accuracy and consistency
- Assist in developing and updating behavioral programs and documentation
- Collect and record data on client progress and behavior targets
- Ensure all session notes and documentation are completed accurately and on time
- Collaborate closely with BCBA's, team leads, and fellow staff members
- Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and professional development
- Support clients in developing communication, social, and adaptive living skills
- Maintain professionalism and ethical standards at all times in community settings
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in psychology, education, human services, or related field)
- Experience working with children with developmental disabilities preferred
- Strong willingness to learn and accept constructive feedback and supervision
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and ability to travel between community locations
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and passion for helping others
