Role Description The Behavioral Intervention Specialist is a part-time, on-site role based in Twin Falls, ID. This role involves implementing individualized behavioral and developmental service plans in home and community settings, using evidence-based strategies to help children build new skills and reduce challenging behaviors. Day-to-day tasks include conducting structured observations, collecting and documenting behavioral data, supporting caregivers with behavior-management techniques, and collaborating with supervisors and other team members to adjust interventions as needed. The specialist will provide direct one-on-one interventions, maintain accurate records in accordance with agency policies, and communicate progress and concerns to families and clinical staff in a professional and timely manner. This position requires consistent in-person work with children and families and adherence to ethical and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Ability to apply behavioral and developmental intervention techniques, including implementing individualized service plans and behavior-support strategies.
- Strong observation and documentation skills, including accurate data collection, recordkeeping, and reporting on progress and challenges.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams in home and community settings.
- Capacity to work independently, manage time across multiple cases, and adapt to changing needs in dynamic family environments.
- Experience or coursework in psychology, special education, social work, applied behavior analysis, or a related field required.
- Prior experience supporting children with developmental or behavioral needs is beneficial.
- Must be within 16 months of graduating with a bachelor’s degree in a social services field
- Reliable transportation to client homes and community locations in Twin Falls, ID, and ability to meet any background check and clearance requirements.
