Overview
The Mix Plant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the mix plant, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant production of blasting products. This role focuses on maintaining high standards of quality and safety while supervising plant personnel and coordinating production activities. The supervisor will work closely with maintenance, quality, and operations teams to meet production goals and adhere to all regulatory and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Supervise mix plant operations and lead a team to achieve production targets.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct daily safety and quality checks, and lead toolbox meetings.
- Monitor production processes and make adjustments to maintain product specifications.
- Coordinate with maintenance for equipment repairs and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Complete and maintain accurate documentation for production, safety, and quality compliance.
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and process issues to minimize downtime.
- Support Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, including Management of Change (MOC) and operating procedure updates.
- Train and mentor team members on safety, quality, and operational best practices.
- Communicate effectively with plant leadership regarding production status, issues, and improvements.
- Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet ATF explosive processor requirements.
- Minimum age of 18.
- 1 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in chemical or explosives manufacturing is preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Comfortable working at heights and in varying environmental conditions (hot/cold, wet floors, loud environments).
- Availability for shift work, overtime, and on-call duties as needed.
- High manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work at heights or elevated surfaces for short periods
