We are seeking a strong Business Development person, who will strengthen AMP’s presence and revenue growth in the U.S. market. This role focuses on expanding sales opportunities, building partnerships, increasing market visibility, and supporting authors through strategic initiatives. The candidate should combine strong sales and marketing skills with a strong understanding of the U.S. publishing market.
Responsibilities
Partnerships and Networking
- Develop and execute sales strategies that drive book sales, retail placements, and event-based revenue.
-Work with Indie bookstores, retailers, libraries, and strategic partners to expand sales channels.
-Identify new market opportunities, distribution avenues, and partnership-driven sales potential.
-Track sales performance, provide insights, and recommend improvements to maximize growth.
-Work together with Editorial teams and connect with Literary festivals, writing conferences, and cultural events
-Negotiate and manage collaborations that expand visibility for the brand, authors and the book.
-Represent AMP at local New York events, book fairs, local as well as national exhibits/events.
-Coordinate joint marketing initiatives with other organizations if there will be a broader reach.
Marketing
-Design and execute marketing campaigns tailored for first-time authors across the US.
-Build and enhance the book presence through social media, newsletters, campaigns.
-Develop author and content focused marketing plans to generate sales and events interest.
-Guide digital marketing team to create marketing materials and materials aligning with AMP branding and US publishing standards.
-Manage online community engagement through platforms like Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and writing forums.
-Support and train authors on handling the initiatives and build confidence and relationship with authors.
-Make sure our CRM and other platforms (CISION...) are used to its full potential, track and submit performance metrics.
-Optimize/Modify marketing strategies based on content and author, explore new opportunities based on the changing market trends
-Organize or support author events, sessions, both in person and virtual.
-Build relationships with event organizers to host sessions, build brand and work with 3rd parties whenever needed.
-Support authors in planning book launches, signings, readings, and promotional activities.
Visibility
-Perform general book pitching, plus identify selective partnerships where books can be sold and create interest.
-Coordinate with author to identify opportunities and work with bookstores/events to increase sales.
-Partner with bookstores for small scale author events, signings, and store promotions.
-Work with reading clubs, library programs, and awards teams and not miss any opportunity.
-Create a long terms approach with the authors to support them throughout the marketing lifetime and provide guidance to increase discoverability.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Publishing, or related field.
· 4 years of experience in marketing, partnerships, events, related to publishing/media.
· Strong understanding of the US publishing market, book marketing trends, and author communities.
· Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-management skills.
· Ability to manage independently and work from office.
· Passion for books, storytelling, and supporting new authors.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
