Role Description The Laser Operator role is a full-time, on-site position based in Austin, TX. The Laser Operator will set up, program, and operate laser cutting machines to produce metal parts according to detailed specifications and work orders. Secondary work on a CNC press brake when needed to form the parts is a required skill.
Responsibilities include loading and unloading materials, monitoring machine performance, performing routine checks, and adjusting settings to maintain cut quality and production efficiency. The role involves reading and interpreting technical drawings, measuring finished parts, and completing quality inspections to ensure parts meet tolerance and safety standards. The Laser Operator will also help maintain a clean, safe work area, perform basic machine maintenance, and collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet daily production goals.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Machine Operation, including setup, monitoring, and basic maintenance of industrial equipment.
- Hands-on experience with Laser Cutting and Laser systems for metal fabrication.
- Knowledge of Quality Control practices, including measurement tools, inspection procedures, and documentation.
- Understanding of Operations Management principles related to workflow, production scheduling, and safety in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
