OVERVIEW OF POSITION / DEPARTMENT Aurora Water is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the drinking water, sanitary sewer and storm drainage systems, treatment of drinking water and non-potable reclaimed wastewater for irrigation, billing and collection, public outreach and water conservation, acquisition and development of future water rights, major capital projects programs, and quality control for regulatory compliance and public health. The Water Permit Technician position will reside in the Aurora Water "TAPs Office." The TAPs Office team is responsible for calculating and collecting fees associated with service connection. In addition to this role, the team develops reports for wholesale connection fees, calculates and issues stormwater permit fees, tracks and refunds fiscal securities, schedules inspections, tracks and communicates new accounts to the billing office and answers customer questions as needed. The ream works in the Granicus AMANDA system. The position will be under the supervision of the TAPS office supervisor. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Calculate and collect fees for water and sewer connection permits Calculate and collect fees for stormwater and erosion control permits Manage and refund stormwater fiscal securities Create, track and communicate new accounts to the billing team Schedule inspections for water and sewer line service Track and collect service line inspections fees Research and issues development fees Reviews various building permits Communicate closely with the development review team Develop monthly and quarterly reports for wholesale districts Metro Wastewater and City and County of Denver fee calculations Work in the Amanda systems Facilitate and coordinate project logistics such as verifying, completing and maintaining project documents Upload and manage Aurora Water documents to Stellent (Oracle) for both internal partners and external customers to view.
