Salary Range: $38,000 - $45,000
Responsibilities
- Develop curriculum/activities to meet developmental goals and instructional activities.
- Prepare lesson plans and structure daily routine for students.
- Direct Para-Professionals in classroom with daily/weekly job tasks.
- Allocate 90% of time with students teaching daily-life skills.
- Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff.
- Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis, providing progress reports as required.
- Create and keep records on attendance, accidents, incidents, and other noteworthy events in accordance with program policies.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with outlined guidelines.
- Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom/school campus.
- Ensure safe work practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned with Vocational and Day Services when school is not in session.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience working with people with disabilities.
- Ability to build effective/professional relationships with families and students.
- Experience developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum.
- Proven ability to maintain a safe a studious classroom environment.
- Ability to build effective/professional relationships.
- Highly developed oral/written communication.
- Acceptable Background Character Verification.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer software applications such as Microsoft Word.
