This position plays a vital role in supporting patients and families throughout their hospitalization by assisting with AHCCCS eligibility, applications, and financial counseling from admission through discharge.

Responsibilities
- Meet with patients directly on inpatient units to assess insurance and financial needs
- Complete and submit AHCCCS applications and supporting documentation
- Follow applications throughout the entire hospitalization process until determination is finalized
- Maintain communication with patients, families, case management, admissions, and clinical staff regarding eligibility status
- Assist uninsured or underinsured patients with financial resources and coverage options
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation within hospital systems
- Verify benefits, eligibility, and insurance information
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies
- Provide excellent customer service while working with behavioral health patients in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with AHCCCS eligibility and application processes preferred
- Previous financial counseling, healthcare admissions, behavioral health, or hospital experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and manage follow-through on multiple cases simultaneously
- Comfortable working within an inpatient psychiatric hospital setting
- Knowledge of insurance verification and healthcare coverage processes preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional healthcare or insurance experience preferred
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach
- Strong follow-up and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
