Paving Laborer

Aurora Asphalt & Concrete is seeking a dependable, hardworking Paving Laborer to join our paving crew. This position plays a key role in the installation of asphalt surfaces by assisting with material placement, operating small equipment, and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient job site. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, thrives in a team environment, and is committed to producing high-quality work.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Shovel and rake (lute) hot asphalt to achieve the proper grade, thickness, and finish.
• Assist the paving crew in placing and distributing asphalt for driveways, parking lots, and other paved surfaces.
• Operate small construction equipment, including plate compactors, hand rollers, tampers, and power brooms.
• Perform handwork around edges, structures, and other areas inaccessible to paving equipment.
• Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicles.
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment as directed.
• Remove debris and perform daily job site cleanup to maintain a safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work collaboratively with crew members to complete projects efficiently and with a high level of quality.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman or Superintendent.

Qualifications

• Construction or asphalt paving experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
