Warehouse Laborer

Position Summary

Record Center Specialists perform physically demanding work involving the handling, storage, and retrieval of boxed records and materials. This role requires frequent lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing while moving boxes manually and with material-handling equipment in a warehouse-style environment.

Work Schedule

• 5 days per week
• 9-hour shifts including:
• • 30-minute lunch
  • Two 15-minute breaks

Key Responsibilities

• Process incoming and outgoing orders for files, books, binders, backup tapes, and related materials
• Manually lift, carry, move, and arrange storage boxes, bins, and totes
• Load and unload boxes onto carts, pallets, and trucks
• Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment
• Use a proprietary computer system to track inventory and locate stored items
• Operate handheld barcode scanners
• Read labels and accurately process orders
• Shrink-wrap pallets and prepare materials for transport
• Maintain safe and organized work areas

Physical Requirements

This position is highly physical and requires the ability to:

• Walk, stand, kneel, squat, stoop, and bend for extended periods
• Lift, carry, push, and pull boxes weighing 10–100 lbs without assistance
• Load and safely operate hand carts and pallet jacks
• Climb and balance on ladders
• Work on uneven surfaces, concrete floors, inclines, and stairs
• Perform repetitive lifting and movement throughout the shift

Safety & Equipment Requirements

• Protective footwear is required and must meet ASTM F2413-11 standards for safety toe protection
• Footwear must have slip-resistant soles rated “Better” or “Best”
• All lifting and material handling must be performed according to safety guidelines

Basic Qualifications

• Ability to read and write in English
• Ability to use computer systems for order tracking and inventory location
• Ability to work independently without physical assistance
• Strong attention to safety and proper lifting techniques
