Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technician to support the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of advanced rail inspection systems. This role combines electrical, mechanical, and production support responsibilities while working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, IT, and Quality teams to deliver high-quality products.

The ideal candidate has experience with electronic assembly, soldering, troubleshooting, reading electrical schematics, and using test equipment in a manufacturing environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Assembly & Production

  • Assemble electrical and mechanical components according to engineering specifications.
  • Perform precision soldering and electronic assembly work.
  • Support production activities while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Prepare finished products for shipment, including crating and packaging.

Testing & Troubleshooting

  • Perform electrical and mechanical testing using multimeters and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, electrical circuits, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Verify system functionality before final release.

Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform maintenance and repair of Wabtec inspection systems in production and deployed environments.
  • Support troubleshooting and servicing of customer equipment when required.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair documentation.

Cross-Functional Support

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and IT teams.
  • Assist with product testing and validation activities.
  • Provide feedback to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
  • Support factory operations and customer support teams as needed.

Documentation

  • Maintain detailed records of assembly, testing, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate and complies with company standards.

 

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 3–5 years of manufacturing technician, repair, or assembly experience.
  • Experience with electronic assembly, soldering, repair, and maintenance.
  • Experience using multimeters and electrical testing equipment.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical School or Vocational Degree preferred.

 

Required Skills

  • Electronic assembly and soldering.
  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with multimeters and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency and Microsoft Office experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
