Mechanical Assembler

Position Summary

The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling and disassembling compressor components using various hand, pneumatic, hydraulic, and power tools. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to follow technical work instructions to ensure high-quality manufacturing standards.

This position works closely with production supervisors, quality teams, safety personnel, and engineering staff to support efficient production and maintain operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Assembly & Disassembly

• Follow detailed assembly and disassembly procedures and work instructions.
• Assemble components by ensuring proper fit and fastening of parts and subassemblies.
• Disassemble equipment using hand tools and power tools.

Component Cleaning & Preparation

• Clean and buff components.
• Wash parts using solvent systems and parts washers.
• Remove solvent and debris using air blowout processes.

Production & Quality

• Ensure production tasks are completed according to schedule and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate assembly procedures and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Participate in cross-training to support production flexibility.

Safety & Workplace Organization

• Follow all PPE and safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace following 5S protocols.
• Turn off equipment when not in use and follow Job Safety Analysis (JSA) guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Basic mechanical knowledge and experience using hand tools
• 1 year of mechanical or assembly experience preferred
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods during full shifts
• Regularly lift or move up to 50 lbs
• Frequent walking throughout the production facility

• Manufacturing / shop floor environment
• Non-temperature-controlled facility
• Exposure to varying temperatures and typical production conditions
