Janitor

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable Janitor to maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and orderly facility. This position performs routine cleaning and basic maintenance activities across offices, restrooms, kitchens, meeting areas, common spaces, and exterior areas.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable, safety-conscious, and able to manage cleaning responsibilities independently while working effectively with a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize offices, meeting rooms, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the facility.
• Empty trash and dispose of waste safely and properly.
• Clean and maintain exterior areas, including walkways and parking areas.
• Operate cleaning equipment and machinery safely and effectively.
• Use cleaning chemicals according to established procedures and safety requirements.
• Store cleaning chemicals and supplies properly and follow appropriate disposal procedures.
• Monitor cleaning supply inventory and request replenishment when needed.
• Perform basic facility maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and unclogging toilets.
• Assist with setup and teardown of meetings, events, and facility activities.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, and injuries promptly.
• Complete required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all site health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning experience.
• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and machinery.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, safe storage, handling, and disposal.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
• Good time-management and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cleaning tasks and maintain schedules.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Dependable and safety-conscious work ethic.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, kneel, reach, squat, and perform repetitive cleaning activities.
• Ability to perform physical cleaning and maintenance duties throughout the shift.
• Ability to safely handle cleaning equipment, supplies, and waste materials.
• Ability to work throughout the facility, including offices, restrooms, common areas, and exterior spaces.
