Industrial Mechanic

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanic II to support maintenance and repair operations for mechanical equipment, facilities, and systems related to water and wastewater treatment operations. This role is ideal for candidates with strong mechanical maintenance experience, troubleshooting skills, and knowledge of pumps, motors, engines, and industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on buildings, machinery, structures, grounds, and equipment
• Inspect, lubricate, and troubleshoot mechanical equipment for proper operation
• Replace bearings, packing, valves, motors, pumps, and related components
• Analyze equipment failures and identify corrective actions to prevent future issues
• Install and set up new mechanical equipment and systems
• Perform plumbing, pipefitting, and pipe cleaning tasks as required
• Operate gas and/or arc welding equipment for cutting, brazing, heating, and welding applications
• Maintain and update maintenance records and documentation
• Communicate maintenance recommendations and repair procedures effectively with team members and management
• Follow written and verbal instructions while maintaining workplace safety standards
• Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum 2 years of maintenance and repair experience
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:
• Trade school education with focus on electrical, mechanical equipment, or metal fabrication preferred
• Knowledge of pumps, motors, engines, and equipment used in water/wastewater treatment facilities
• Understanding of internal combustion engines, electrical pump motors, and safe work practices
• Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred
