RN - Assistant Nurse Manager

Job Summary

The Assistant Nurse Manager provides leadership in collaboration with the Nursing Manager to plan, organize, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate patient care within the unit.

Responsibilities include managing fiscal, human resources, risk, and operational functions, contributing to strategic planning, and maintaining 24-hour accountability.

The role involves performing delegated duties in alignment with the nursing philosophy and scope of responsibility.

• Develops, implements, and improves care delivery models to enhance patient, family, staff, and provider satisfaction.
• Ensures compliance with nurse practice acts and professional standards, upholding nursing values and rights.
• Promotes transparency, interdisciplinary collaboration, and accountability.
• Improves nursing practice quality, service delivery, and administrative effectiveness.
• Allocates resources efficiently to meet current and future objectives.
• Manages a multidisciplinary team providing competent, compassionate care in a professional environment.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 3 years in an acute care setting with leadership experience.
• Proficient in nursing processes, medication administration, diagnostic interpretation, care planning, and patient education.
• Effective communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to supervise staff, coordinate staffing, and collaborate with healthcare providers.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Skills in documentation and bed placement systems; computer proficiency.
  
  

Licensure & Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN); BLS certification within 14 days of hire preferred.
