Role Description
Aura Functional Neurology Center is seeking a part-time, on-site Clinical Neuro-Rehab Assistant to support our provider in delivering specialized autonomic and neurological rehabilitation.
This is not a traditional chiropractic assistant role. Our office focuses on:
- Balance and coordination training
- Interactive Metronome exercises
- Cognitive and reaction-time drills
- Vestibular and gaze stabilization (VOR) exercises
- Autonomic support strategies
The ideal candidate has experience in a clinical, rehab, or patient-facing healthcare setting, is highly organized, compassionate, and coachable, and is comfortable working with patients with autonomic dysfunction, dizziness, migraines, fatigue, or sensory sensitivity.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Interaction & Session Support
Guide patients through programmed neuro-rehab exercises, including:
- Balance and coordination drills
- Interactive Metronome sessions
- Cognitive and reaction-time tasks
- Sensory integration exercises
- Accurately follow provider-created treatment protocols
- Monitor patient safety, fatigue, and tolerability during sessions
- Provide encouragement, clear communication, and supportive coaching
- Maintain a calm, organized environment for patients with neurological sensitivity
Clinical Support & Documentation
- Record session data, timing, metrics, and observations in the patient’s chart
- Assist with initial exam setup and functional testing
- Prepare treatment rooms and maintain equipment
- Track patient progress in structured 1–14 week programs
- Help maintain rehab schedules and patient flow
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and office procedures
Administrative Tasks
- Greet patients and manage check-in/check-out
- Support scheduling, confirmations, and practice communications
- Help with program coordination and follow-up
- Maintain cleanliness, supplies, and clinic organization
Qualifications
Experience in a clinical or rehab setting:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA)
- Exercise Science / Kinesiology degree
- Athletic Trainer (ATC/LAT)
- PT/OT tech experience
- Neuro, psych, or pre-health background
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to learn and follow structured protocols
- Comfortable working with patients experiencing dizziness, fatigue, migraines, or autonomic symptoms
- Tech-savvy and able to manage software, timers, and digital tools
- Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
