What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiology Tech - Tri County Ortho position at Aultman Health Foundation?
Position Summary
The Registered Radiological Technician is responsible for preparing patients for physician exams / treatment, assisting physician, performing diagnostic imaging / tests and providing patient education and maintenance of clinical area.
Department Summary
Orthopedic and Sports Medicine practice with high volume of surgical patients.
Qualifications
Graduate of Accredited Radiological Technician Program
Certified or registered Radiological Technician, or equivalent Ohio license
Obtain and maintain current American Heart Association (AHA) training in Basic Life Support (BLS) utilizing Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) is required
Prior medical experience encouraged
Must be computer literate to complete task(s) as required
Knowledge of current radiology policies and procedures as well as knowledge and use of resources necessary to maintain quality and cost-efficient services

Computer Word Processing and computer technology (typing 50 WPM)
Medical Terminology
Excellent organization skills with focus on detail
Self-motivated with ability to work with little supervision
Ability to communicate effectively and motivate others
Department Skills
Prepares patients for physician exam
Performs diagnostic imaging / test as ordered by physician
Manages clinical data
Maintains clinical area
Assists with general office duties
Performs other duties as assigned in support of the office
Working Conditions
Work eight to nine hours a day
Shifts are variable to volume of department. Rotation may be needed
Lunch periods and breaks are coordinated with other staff members to maintain adequate floor coverage
Cross training in all areas in the department is required
Staff may be assigned to different locations within the foundation
Hazardous Exposure Category
Category II - Includes tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, but employment may require performing unplanned Category I tasks. The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues by exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment. Appropriate protective measures will be readily available to every employee engaged in Category II tasks.
