The Senior Manager, Accounting leads the team of accounting professionals responsible for the accurate, complete, and timely accounting of all financial transactions related to the successful operation of Augusta National Golf Club, the Masters Tournament, as well as other related entities and events.

Essential Functions of the Job
- Oversees key accounting cycles including Revenue / Receivables, Purchasing / Payables, Inventory / COGS, Cash Application / Treasury Management, and General Ledger Management
- Manages monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes including review and approval of associated journal entries and account reconciliations
- Verifies internal controls within areas of responsibility are appropriately designed and operating effectively with specific focus on segregation of duties and transaction documentation
- Confirms adherence with generally accepted accounting principles, Club’s policies and procedures, and applicable laws while maintaining the confidentiality of all Club business
- Ensures regulatory compliance and completion of state sales and use tax as well as federal 1099 and 1042 filings
- Leads client responsibilities for multiple financial statements and benefit plan audits annually with professional services firm
- Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement across processes and follows through with the development, recommendation, and implementation of related solutions (with specific emphasis on technology-driven solutions)
- Accountable for overall results of the team through direct supervision of multiple employees
- Manages the employee life cycle of the team, including recruitment and onboarding, performance management, career development, retention and engagement, and succession planning
- Promotes teamwork by skillfully aligning resource availability with business needs, ensuring optimal assignment and completion of tasks
- Inspires and motivates team members, fostering an environment conducive to their peak performance
- Exhibits meticulous attention to detail through clear direction and thorough review of work products
- Provides both formal and informal learning opportunities, facilitating the continuous development of individual and team capabilities
- Performs other duties, which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job
Qualifications:
Skills/Knowledge/Attributes:
- Knowledge of advanced technical accounting topics such as revenue recognition, inventory costing, fixed asset depreciation, consolidations, pension and other post-employment benefits, foreign currency transactions and translation, charitable and not-for-profit accounting principles
- Analytical skills to collect, research and synthesize large and complex data sets and business issues
- Power user in Excel including significant experience with advanced formulas and functions, data visualization, PivotTables and PivotCharts, data analysis tools (Goal Seek, Solver, Scenario Manager), macros and VBA
- Proven project and people management skills to develop, coordinate and manage multiple priorities while meeting established budgets and deadlines
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required to develop positive working relationships with all levels of the organization
- Ability to lead a team and present/facilitate group discussions across multiple departments and levels within the organization
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
Relative Experience/Education:
- Seven (7) years of experience working in corporate or public accounting environment
- Industry experience within club, sports, hospitality and/or retail preferred
- Bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA and/or MBA preferred
- Proficiency with financial ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and/or general ledger software, Oracle NetSuite preferred
Physical Demands
- Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties
- Occasionally required to walk and work with hands and arms, lift up to 25 pounds and/or drive a golf cart
- Constantly required to sit, sometimes for several hours at a time, and use their hands and fingers to operate a computer

Projected Work Schedule:
Normal work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
