Vacancy: Part-time Literacy Coordinator
Reports To: Director of Elementary Instruction

SUMMARY
Coordinates K-8 efforts in literacy training, Student Reading Plans, data analysis, and walkthroughs with the Director of Elementary Instruction and ELA Supervisor for Grades 6-8.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reliable attendance and prompt arrival time;
Demonstrates knowledge of developmental reading, PALS Assessments, data disaggregation and differentiation strategies;
- Assist with monitoring fidelity to the following county literacy initiatives:
- Train Instructional Assistants K-8
- Conduct Literacy Walkthroughs K-5
- Work collaboratively with Instructional Coaches
- Partner with teachers with literacy needs
- Assist with Professional Development of teachers
- Assist with creation, implementation, and effectiveness of Student Reading Plans K-8
- Provides staff development
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from four-year accredited college or university; Master's Degree in Reading/ Reading Endorsement. Trained as a LETRS Facilitator. Trained in Morphology. Reading Specialist Certification; OG Trained; Morphology Trained; SPED Certification; 6-12 English certified
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid certification to meet State requirements with specific endorsement in the area to which assigned.
Applicant must have experience and an acceptable rating for such teaching.
