Responsibilities
- Assist with the excavation, trenching, and backfilling of underground cable routes using hand tools and power tools.
- Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, excavators, and other construction machinery safely and efficiently.
- Support fiber splicing activities by preparing cables, connecting fiber optic lines, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
- Install and maintain telecommunication infrastructure including cabling, wiring, and network components in accordance with schematics and technical specifications.
- Climb poles or structures safely to install or repair network hardware like LAN (Local Area Network) Ethernet connections or telephony systems.
- Use hand tools and power tools to perform construction tasks related to low voltage electrical systems and IT infrastructure.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while working in confined underground spaces or at heights, ensuring a secure work environment.
Skills
- Experience with field service operations involving telecommunication networks, fiber splicing, or cabling projects.
- Proficiency in heavy equipment operation such as bucket trucks or excavators used in underground work.
- Knowledge of schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings related to network infrastructure.
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts including LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet, WAN (Wide Area Network), and low voltage electrical systems.
