Job Overview: Senior Manager of Paid Media

The Senior Manager of Paid Media will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and optimization of paid media campaigns across a squad of junior team members and a book of business. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in managing successful paid media initiatives. Senior managers are expected to be able to perform >50% the duties of the director from the business perspective by the midpoint of the growth in the role and be able to be used effectively from a sales perspective. In this role you are expected to be a People Developer, Practice Manager and Evolver, Advisory Consultant, Trusted SME in sales support, Experienced internal consultant for complex paid challenges, new challenges, and client interactions.


Responsibilities:


Account Strategy:

  • Develop, execute, and manage advanced comprehensive paid media strategies that align with client objectives and business goals across the department where needed.
  • Stay current with client, industry, and technology trends to incorporate innovative approaches into campaign strategies.
  • Identification and action on growth opportunities across the department

Account Management:

  • Act as the main point of contact for key clients, understanding their business goals, and aligning paid media strategies accordingly.
  • Build and nurture strong client relationships through effective communication and strategic recommendations.
  • Ensure service of squad accounts is high quality to support client retention.
  • Independently lead the onboarding process of new accounts to the business to get the relationship started on the right foot.

Account Execution:

  • Oversee the execution of paid media campaigns across any paid media platform, including PPC, display, and social media advertising.
  • Ensure campaigns are implemented with precision, adhering to best practices and industry standards through QA oversight.
  • Project/task management oversight, deadlines hit/rocks completed.
  • Adhere diligently to Augurian paid media processes, and champion adoption and advancement of these across all client accounts. 

People Development:

  • Mentorship and coaching direct reports.
  • Conduct employee reviews.
  • Employee gap analysis, training/knowledge sharing

Recruiting, Interviewing, and Hiring 

  • Review resumes, conduct screening interviews, and participate in 2nd round and final interviews to assess candidate suitability. 
  • Collaborate with the hiring team to evaluate candidates' qualifications and provide input in internal selection meetings. 
  • Ensure a smooth recruitment process by actively engaging with candidates and maintaining effective communication.

Thought Leadership and Practice Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of paid media professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
  • Guide campaign strategy, execution, and optimization to ensure exceptional results across the entire department.
  • Showcase being a subject matter expert across multiple disciplines to help level up the collective department. 
  • Identify and own specific team initiatives that will help develop our paid media practice. 

Analysis/Reporting:

  • Utilize advanced analytics tools to analyze campaign performance and derive actionable insights. 
  • Develop new ways of conducting analysis and reporting and bring this expertise to the department. 
  • Generate comprehensive reports for clients, providing clear insights into campaign success and areas for improvement.
  • Oversight and training on Pre-meeting insights. Ensure that insights going out the door on squad client accounts meet the high standards of our team. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other departments, including organic, analytics & sales when value can be delivered that is worth the impact.
  • Grow tangential functional skills to be a cross functional asset to the organization.

Variable Compensation / bonus:

  • Oversee progress of direct reports and broader team and helps coach them to unlock variable comp. If factors arise that are beyond their control, coach them about why those choices were made.
