We’re looking for a hands-on welder with MIG solid wire welding experience to support the fabrication and repair of compactors, containers, and carts. This role starts as a contract or temporary position, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role based on performance and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding and fabrication on compactors, containers, and carts using MIG solid wire and other basic welding processes.
- Conduct repairs and preventive maintenance, including electrical and hydraulic system diagnostics on compactors.
- Assist senior welders and participate in team projects as needed.
- Perform related metalwork such as cutting, bending, forming, beveling, and notching.
- Complete all required documentation in the fleet maintenance software system, including repair details, parts used, and time tracking.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area in compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Work from blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions to complete standard layouts and dimensions.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 0–4 years of welding or equipment repair experience (industrial or manufacturing setting preferred).
- Additional or specialized welding training is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Proficiency in MIG welding; familiarity with arc, gas, or aluminum welding is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety procedures, repair tools, and maintenance practices for industrial equipment.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Basic computer skills to use maintenance tracking software.
- Frequent hand and finger coordination for tool and equipment operation.
- Occasional lifting of objects up to 30 lbs.
- Occasional exposure to noise, odors, dirt, and varying weather conditions.
- Standard environment: repair and maintenance shop.
