Position Overview
The File Clerk supports administrative and document control functions within a structured operational or project environment. This role is responsible for maintaining organized filing systems, ensuring accurate recordkeeping, and supporting document retrieval processes critical to day-to-day business operations.

Working as part of a broader administrative or project support team, the File Clerk ensures that physical and/or digital records are properly classified, stored, and accessible to authorized personnel. This position plays a key role in maintaining compliance with document retention policies and supporting efficient information management across departments.

Qualifications:

Required Technical Skills

  • Ability to organize and maintain filing systems (alphabetical, numerical, and chronological)
  • Basic proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, and document management systems)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling records and documentation
  • Ability to follow established procedures and document retention policies
  • Basic clerical and administrative skills, including copying, scanning, and filing
  • Effective time management and ability to complete routine tasks efficiently

Preferred Experience / Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required
  • 0–3 years of experience in administrative support, records management, or clerical roles
  • Experience working in structured environments such as utilities, engineering, or corporate operations preferred
  • Familiarity with document control practices or records retention standards is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented environment
