Position Title: Theater Technician
Location: The Donald M. Gay Performing Arts Center, Edward Little High School, Auburn, ME
Rate: $18/hour
Schedule: Event‑based, per diem
Position Summary:
The DMGPAC is seeking responsible, motivated individuals to serve as on‑site theater technicians. This role primarily supports school concerts and performances and may occasionally assist with community rentals. Technicians will work under supervision, receive full training, and must commit to professional conduct, school policies, and punctual attendance.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support for live events including lighting, sound, projection, and staging systems
Engage in set‑up and breakdown duties and assist other crew members as needed
Maintain safe, clean, and organized backstage and technical work areas
Adhere to DMGPAC and Auburn School Department policies and procedures at all times
Demonstrate strong time‑management skills, professional behavior, and teamwork
Accept direction and feedback from supervisors and event leads
Possess willingness to learn, trouble‑shoot issues, and execute tasks with reliability and care
Qualifications & Requirements:
Interest or experience in theater, AV production, live events, or technical support is a plus
Availability for evenings and weekends as event scheduling requires
A professional reference is required
Training provided; no advanced technical experience required to apply
