Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in child and family counseling, crisis intervention, and special education. This role involves working closely with students, families, and school staff to promote mental health and academic success at our elementary buildings. The School Psychologist will conduct assessments, develop intervention strategies, and provide support for students with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities and autism.
Duties
- Conduct psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify student needs.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with educators and parents.
- Provide individual and group counseling to students facing emotional, behavioral, or academic challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to create effective behavior management strategies.
- Participate in crisis intervention and management efforts within the school environment.
- Work with families to provide support and resources for children’s mental health needs.
- Conduct safety plans for at-risk students to ensure a secure learning environment.
- Engage in conflict management and resolution strategies among students.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records related to student assessments and interventions.
- Provide training for school staff on psychological principles related to student behavior and learning.
Experience
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field is required.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with applied behavior analysis techniques is beneficial.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, patient care, and psychological testing methods is essential.
- Experience in case management, early intervention strategies, and behavioral health practices is highly valued.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders.
