The Logistics Specialist ensures the efficient, compliant, and timely movement of organic products throughout the supply chain—from suppliers and production facilities to retail partners and direct-to-consumer channels. This role supports inventory accuracy, oversees transportation and warehousing operations, and maintains the integrity and quality standards required for certified organic goods.ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day logistics operations, including inbound materials, outbound shipments, and order fulfillment.Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels across warehouses, production sites, and distribution centers.Coordinate procurement and replenishment schedules to prevent stockouts or overstocks, with special attention to product shelf life and organic storage requirements.Arrange and track domestic and international shipments, ensuring adherence to organic handling standards.Select and negotiate with transportation carriers to meet cost and performance targets.Optimize routes, delivery timelines, and freight costs while preserving product quality and reducing carbon footprint when possible.Maintain complete and accurate documentation for organic audits (e.g., chain of custody, lot tracking, supplier certifications).Work with Quality Assurance to resolve non-conformities, damaged shipments, or temperature-control issuesCoordinate with warehouse teams to ensure proper storage conditions (humidity, temperature, contamination prevention).Assist in cycle counts, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives in the warehouse.Partner with Production, Procurement, Sales, and Customer Service to ensure smooth order flow and accurate delivery commitments.Communicate proactively with internal teams and external partners regarding shipment status, delays, or logistics constraints.Provide logistics insights for demand planning, supplier selection, and sustainability initiatives.Use ERP/WMS systems to manage orders, inventory, shipments, and logistics documentation.Analyze logistics KPIs (e.g., on-time delivery, freight cost per unit, inventory accuracy) and identify improvement opportunities.Support the development of environmentally responsible packaging, shipping methods, and supply-chain practices.Qualifications1–2 years of logistics, inventory management, or supply chain experience.Strong knowledge of transportation modes, warehousing practices, and inventory control.Experience with ERP/WMS systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Fishbowl, or similar).Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and organization skills.Experience working with certified organic products or regulated food environments.Familiarity with cold-chain logistics or perishable product distribution.Lean/Six Sigma or supply-chain certification (APICS, CSCMP, etc.).
