Medical Laboratory Technologist / Technician (Molecular & Cytology)
Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Afternoon Shift
A steady-paced diagnostic laboratory in Tallahassee is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLS/MT/CLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to support molecular testing and cytology workflows. This role offers weekday hours, a supportive team environment, and the opportunity to expand skills in a growing specialty lab!
Responsibilities:
- Perform molecular testing, including QC, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Accession and prepare specimens for processing
- Operate and maintain ThinPrep processors; re-run samples when needed
- Operate automated stainers and cover slippers
- Prepare non-gyn cytology samples, ECC biopsies, and surgical specimens
- Distribute slides to cytologists and assist with pathologist requests
- Maintain accurate QC, instrument, and reagent logs; monitor inventory
- Help train and coordinate assigned staff while following lab quality standards
Requirements:
- Active Florida MT or MLT license
- Qualified to perform molecular testing
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Reliable for the assigned afternoon shift
Preferred:
- ASCP certification
- Experience in molecular diagnostics or cytology preparation
