Cytotechnologist – Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Tallahassee, FL

A well-established diagnostic laboratory in Tallahassee is seeking a skilled Cytotechnologist to screen and interpret gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who wants to make a direct impact on patient care while working in a modern, supportive lab environment!

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, screen, and interpret ThinPrep gynecologic and non-gyn specimens (urine, fluids, FNA, bronchial, CSF).
• Perform ancillary Pap testing and molecular assays such as HPV and CT/NG.
• Assist with FNA procedures and provide rapid on-site evaluations.
• Enter accurate interpretations into the laboratory information system.
• Support quality assurance, documentation, and proficiency testing requirements.
• Communicate effectively with pathologists, laboratory staff, and clinical partners.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree and completion of an accredited Cytotechnology program.
• ASCP Cytotechnologist certification and active Florida Cytotechnologist license.
• Strong microscopic screening skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet daily screening requirements.
• Ability to discern colors, use microscopes for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and follow safety procedures.

Preferred:

• Five or more years of cytology experience, including non-gyn and FNA support.
