Principal R&D Engineer – Catheter / Minimally Invasive Devices
Plymouth, MN (On-site)
We are seeking a Principal R&D Engineer to lead complex medical device development programs with a strong focus on catheter and minimally invasive technologies.
This is a high-impact, senior-level role designed to support a growing pipeline of development programs and reduce bandwidth at the executive level. You will own multiple programs while providing leadership to engineers and technical staff.
- Lead end-to-end product development from concept through design, testing, and commercialization
- Serve as project lead across multiple programs, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and execution
- Provide direct leadership and oversight to engineers and technicians
- Partner with senior leadership on project prioritization and strategy
- Drive design, prototyping, and validation of catheter-based and minimally invasive devices
- Solve complex technical challenges using strong engineering fundamentals
- 10 years of medical device R&D experience
- Proven track record of successfully bringing devices to market
- Deep experience with catheter and/or minimally invasive device design (required)
- Demonstrated experience leading projects and managing teams
- Strong background in mechanical engineering and product development
- Proficiency with SolidWorks
- Ability to operate at both a strategic and hands-on level
This role requires direct catheter or minimally invasive device experience.
