Employee Relations Coordinator
Location: Administration Offices
Department: Human Resources
Reports to: Human Resources Manager
⏰ Status: Full-time | Non-Exempt | Temp to Hire
Pay: $30.14 per hour
Position Summary
The Employee Relations Coordinator serves as a vital link between the Human Resources department and employees throughout the organization. This position plays a key role in fostering a positive, inclusive, and transparent workplace culture that aligns with Just Culture principles—promoting accountability, learning, and open communication.
You’ll support employee relations processes, investigations, and compliance efforts, while serving as a trusted resource for staff and management.

Key Responsibilities
- Guide managers on fair, constructive coaching and corrective action using Just Culture principles
- Collaborate with leaders on performance improvement plans and disciplinary steps
- Support and track worker’s compensation claims and interactive processes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Conduct or assist with employee relations investigations
- Review and process terminations and separations
- Assist with HR compliance audits and reporting
- Communicate HR policy updates and reinforce organizational standards
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
- 1–2 years of HR generalist or employee relations experience required
- PHR/SPHR or other HR certification preferred
- Nonprofit or healthcare HR experience a plus
- Strong understanding of employment laws and compliance requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—verbal, written, and presentation
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in sensitive situations
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, payroll software, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and deliver high-quality results under deadlines
