Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by checking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature regularly
- Support medication administration following HIPAA regulations and care plans established by nursing staff
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, especially those with dementia or Alzheimer's disease
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal consumption while adhering to dietary restrictions
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks and infection control practices
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s
to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance - Observe, document, and report any changes in residents’ condition or behavior to the healthcare team promptly
- Support residents with community outings or activities to promote social engagement and mental well-being
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR, first aid, and hospice care procedures when necessary
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
- Knowledge of working with people with developmental disabilities or autism is advantageous
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and understanding of care plans
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare teams
