CNC Milling Operations Supervisor - Aerospace Components

Location: South Bend, IN 46628

When you walk into our South Bend machining center, your day starts with a quick stand-up: you review the schedule, assign priorities for short-run jobs, and ensure the team is set up to hit quality and delivery targets. You’ll keep a close eye on tight-tolerance aerospace fuel control components moving through both 3–4 axis and 5-axis vertical machining centers. Between quality checks and equipment inspections, you coach operators, jump in to troubleshoot a stubborn program, and fine-tune workflows so hot jobs land on time. Before you wrap, you’ll document production, escalate improvement ideas, and line up tomorrow’s plan.

Our shop produces small fuel control parts for the aircraft industry. We focus on shorter runs and close-tolerance machining, emphasizing precision, repeatability, and safety.

You will join as a Lead. After approximately 90 days—if the fit is right for you and for us—you can transition to the Supervisor title. Leadership is actively expanding production, creating strong advancement potential. Management has invested roughly $2,000,000 in new capital over the past 12 months and enhanced employee benefits.

• Direct day-to-day activities of the machining center team for efficient throughput.
• Balance workloads to meet schedule commitments and customer deadlines.
• Uphold safety standards and company policies on every shift.
• Routinely inspect machines, tooling, and fixtures to sustain optimal performance.
• Train, mentor, and develop team members; drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with QA, engineering, and planning to streamline processes.
• Create and maintain accurate production records and reports.
• Resolve personnel and production issues quickly and constructively.

• High school diploma or equivalent; a machining-focused technical credential is preferred.
• Extensive machining background with at least 8 years in CNC, ideally centered on milling. We can train the right candidate to step into supervisory responsibilities.
• Deep understanding of machining processes, tooling, and equipment.
• Clear, confident leadership and communication abilities.
• Fluency in reading technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and meticulous attention to detail.
• Comfort using production-management software and related digital tools.
• Willingness to work overtime up to 55 hours when needed. Currently the department typically works 45–50 hours; urgent jobs may offer optional Saturday work for an additional 5 hours of OT.
