Director of Supply Chain
Attalon is hiring a Director of Supply Chain to oversee and optimize its supply chain operations across three business segments. Each business segment is supported by its own local supply chain team, responsible for managing the purchasing and logistics functions. As the company’s most senior supply chain leader, this role is pivotal in providing strategic direction, implementing the best industry practices, and ensuring alignment across all supply chain activities. It is a highly visible position, offering significant exposure to the business leadership team and the board of directors.
The ideal candidate will embody a “player-coach” mindset, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution. Alongside local leading teams, this role involves directly managing tasks such as supplier negotiations and conducting critical analyses. The supply chain function supports a wide range of programs through Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and a successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with Program Managers across the organization, identifying opportunities to enhance customer outcomes through supply chain improvements.
Responsibilities
As the Director of Supply Chain, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Procurement Strategy: Evaluate and manage corporate spending to develop comprehensive procurement strategies that drive value across all business units and programs.
- Supply Chain Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including developing second source strategies and addressing raw material availability risks (e.g., sole-source risks and Germanium supply).
- Logistics Management: Oversee logistics for the enterprise and negotiate contracts with carriers to ensure optimal value for Attalon and its customers.
- Supplier Quality: Collaborate with quality teams to embed supplier quality into vendor selection processes and set corporate standards for supplier performance.
- Best Practice Implementation: Define and implement corporate standards and processes that align Attalon's supply chain and logistics functions with industry best practices.
- Compliance: Ensure full compliance with government purchasing regulations (e.g., FARS/DFARS and DPAS ratings) and ensure required standards are consistently flowed down to the supply chain function.
- Performance Metrics: Develop, implement, and monitor key supply chain metrics to measure and improve performance across the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, business, supply chain, logistics or a related field
- 13 years of experience working in a supply chain role
- 5 years working for an aerospace & defense focused business
- 10 years of demonstrated leadership skills
- Demonstrated experience managing procurement and logistics
- Experience working in an AS9100 environment where supplier quality is critical; familiar with first article inspections, supplier quality agreements, supplier audits, and other tools to ensure high standards of supply chain quality
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering, finance, business, supply chain, logistics or a related field
- 15 years of experience working in a supply chain role
- 10 years working for an aerospace & defense focused business

Salary : $143,750 - $251,562
