Job Summary
Pay includes a 1.50 shift differential . We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing facility team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to ensure the smooth operation of production equipment and plant systems during the second shift. As a key contributor, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot complex machinery, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Your expertise in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, hydraulics, and mechanical repairs will be vital in maintaining optimal plant performance and safety standards.
Duties
1. Identifies and diagnoses faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of manufacturing equipment and repairs or replaces parts, as required
2. Observes operating mechanical devices and identifies root cause(s) of ineffective and/or inefficient process by sight and sound
3. Accesses control panels to remove and repair/replace defective machine parts
4. Examines form and texture of machined parts to identify and correct imperfections
5. Inspects used machine parts to determine and recommend specification changes such as changes dimensional requirements
6. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments (such as sensors, robots, etc.)
7. Repairs or replaces defective parts; installs special functional and/or structural parts in devices
8. Performs preventive maintenance, such as changing coolant tanks, checking belts, lubricating bearings, etc.
9. Process waste water in chip bins and contact vendor to retrieve and recycle used coolant
10. Cleans and lubricates parts in accordance with preventive maintenance schedule
11. Starts machines to test device performance
12. Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder and other metal working tools to repair and/or machine replacement parts; fabricates jigs and fixtures
13. Accesses electrical boxes to repair/replace sensors, motors, wiring, control valves, etc.
14. Collaborates with Engineering and Production to install new equipment in such a way that optimizes work flow
15. Attends to general building through the maintenance of lighting, heating, spot coolers, exhaust fans, roofing needs, etc., recommending support of independent licensed contractors for major mechanical and/or electrical projects
:
1. Installs cables, air lines and various fittings to accommodate the installation of new equipment, such as robots, conveyors and programmable controllers
2. Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment
3. Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatuses such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables
4. Tests malfunctioning machinery and collaborates with fellow Maintenance Technicians and Process Engineers to diagnose and correct
5. Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches and motors and positions sensing devices
6. Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards
7. Reprograms (teaches) robot pendants (controllers) to perform automated functions; tests for malfunctions; verifies successful reprogramming
8. Knowledge of PLC to diagnose and repair common failures or programming errors.
9. Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit and electrical apparatuses throughout the building, such as power outlets, light switches, etc.
Pay: $25.50 - $26.50 per hour
