Essential Functions
- Processes mail for distribution to box locations and delivery service locations.
- Assists Mail Services customers. Communicates accurate information to customers regarding shipping methods and costs for sending letters and packages.
- Ensures cross training is conducted in various work areas.
- Maintains mailboxes, ensures mailboxes are labeled accurately, mailbox operation problems are resolved quickly, and assists customers with lock/combination difficulties.
- Provides tracking system information.
- Operates mail processing equipment and generates accurate mail reports.
- Ensures accuracy of machine operations, applies appropriate postage to mail, stays up-to-date on equipment operation.
- Maintains reliable mail delivery service, delivers mail, picks up mail and packages as assigned.
- Ensures all Accountable Mail is delivered and all signatures are obtained.
- Maintains supplies, inventories tickets, transit materials, etc. for re-ordering stock.
