What You’ll Do
- Oversee daily dietary operations including meal preparation, service, and sanitation
- Supervise, schedule, and manage dietary team members, ensuring quality and compliance
- Develop and implement menus that meet nutritional guidelines and resident needs
- Ensure compliance with physician-ordered diets, texture modifications, and special dietary requirements
- Monitor food quality, presentation, portion control, and resident satisfaction
- Enforce sanitation, infection control, and safety standards in accordance with regulations
- Manage inventory, purchasing, food costs, and departmental budget
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation for regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to support resident care plans
- Participate in surveys, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
- Address resident and family concerns related to dietary services in a timely, professional manner
- ServSafe Certification — required
- High School diploma required; Dietary Manager course or related education preferred
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience in long-term care or healthcare setting
- 1–3 years of cooking experience in long-term care preferred
- Strong knowledge of dietary regulations, food safety, and sanitation standards
- Experience with budgeting, inventory management, and cost control
- Demonstrated success with state surveys and regulatory compliance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership, organization, and team-building abilities
- Positive, dependable, and team-focused attitude
