About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Reliability Engineer to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. In this role, you will work alongside experienced reliability engineers to support system- and unit-level reliability analyses for our space programs. Leveraging your mathematical and analytical capabilities, you will help evaluate the on-orbit reliability performance of satellites and develop data-driven tools to streamline future studies. Your work will directly influence next-generation spacecraft designs by translating operational performance into actionable engineering insights.
Key Responsibilities
- On-Orbit Reliability Analysis: Assist in conducting studies on the operational performance and on-orbit reliability of satellites.
- Tool Development: Design, build, and refine analytical tools and software scripts to facilitate reliability assessments and data processing.
- Failure Analysis: Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA) and numerical reliability modeling on development units for active space programs as needed.
- Design Feedback: Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to feed operational reliability learnings back into future spacecraft architecture and designs.
- Documentation & Reporting: Summarize analytical findings, performance metrics, and technical reports for internal engineering reviews.
Minimum Qualifications
- Work Authorization: Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (U.S. Person status required).
- Education: Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong foundational understanding of basic statistical principles and reliability engineering fundamentals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Programming: Practical experience or relevant coursework in Python for data analysis and tool development.
- Software: High proficiency with Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, data modeling) and PowerPoint (technical presentations).
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills with the ability to communicate complex data clearly across engineering disciplines.
Salary : $60 - $75
