Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Group Facilitator to lead and support therapeutic groups within our mental health and behavioral health programs. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in psychotherapy, crisis management, and group therapy modalities, with a focus on fostering a safe, supportive environment for diverse populations including children, adolescents, adults, and individuals with developmental disabilities. The Group Facilitator will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective treatment plans while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and medical documentation standards.
Duties
- Facilitate group therapy sessions utilizing various therapeutic techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Conduct intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine client needs and appropriate treatment modalities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and clinical teams.
- Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical records, document patient progress, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide psychoeducation on mental health issues such as PTSD, grief, addiction, chronic pain, autism spectrum disorders, and gender issues counseling.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in case management and patient care coordination.
- Engage in research activities related to behavioral health interventions and clinical research projects.
- Utilize ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for documentation purposes and participate in data collection efforts for quality improvement initiatives.
- Support patients through direct support services, telehealth sessions, outpatient programs, inpatient settings, or special education environments as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field; advanced certifications preferred.
- Proven experience in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, or addiction counseling.
- Strong background working with children & family counseling, behavioral management, crisis intervention, and working with people with disabilities or developmental disorders.
- Experience in medical terminology, medical records management, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), HIPAA compliance, and medical documentation standards.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms and outpatient/inpatient clinical settings is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to facilitate group discussions effectively and manage crisis situations professionally.
- Knowledge of special populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, autism spectrum disorder interventions, trauma-informed care (PTSD), grief counseling, gender issues counseling, and chronic pain management is advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
