Tile Setter
Job Responsibilities
- Installing a variety of tile and stone to industry standards
- Lay out of tile and stone installation
- Preparing and cleaning various substrates for installation of tile including waterproofing, mortar beds etc.
- Forming tile mortar beds
- Mixing of various types of mortars and grouts
- Cutting tiles using saws, tile cutters, and grinders
- Grouting, caulking, polishing, and cleaning tile
- Follow blueprints
- Train and supervise helpers/apprentices when applicable
- Follow site safety rules and maintain a clean, organized workspace
Requirements for Setters:
- Minimum of 3 years previous tile experience (with a minimum 1 year specific to setting tile)
- Strong work ethic (reliable with a positive attitude)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Valid DL and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment, 60
- Good math skills
- Knowledge of industry standards and products
- Attention to detail and time management
- Must be able to follow installation instructions/prescribed method of install
- Good customer service/manners
- Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled conditions (heat, cold, outdoors)
- Perform quality control assessments throughout the duration of every project to ensure the completion of all work to a standard of excellence
- Ability to use good judgement and problem-solving skills while striving to work safely at all times.
