Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Entry Writer to prepare and submit U.S. Customs entries accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate has experience with CBP entry filings, understands HTS classification, and can work closely with clients, carriers, and government agencies to ensure compliant import transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit customs entries (Entry Type 01, 03, 11, etc.) via ABI/ACE
- Review commercial invoices, packing lists, and shipping documents for accuracy
- Classify merchandise using the U.S. HTS and determine applicable duties, taxes, and fees
- File ISF and ensure timely compliance
- Handle PGA requirements (FDA, USDA, EPA, CPSC, etc.) when applicable
- Communicate with customers, CBP, and partner agencies to resolve issues
- Track entry status and respond to CBP requests, holds, and exams
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with CBP regulations
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience as an Entry Writer or Customs Entry Specialist (preferred)
- Working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and procedures
- Familiarity with ABI/ACE systems (NetCHB, Descartes, CargoWise, or similar)
- Understanding of HTS classification and valuation
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and document handling
- Bilingual (English/Mandarin) a plus
Preferred Certifications
- Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) – a plus but not required
