Reports to: Fulfillment Manager
Location: Atomic Coffee Roasters — Peabody, MA
About Atomic
Atomic Coffee Roasters is a family-run specialty roaster on Boston’s North Shore, sharing positive energy through great coffee since 1996. We roast in Peabody and produce cold brew in Danvers, fueling a growing DTC and wholesale business.
The Role
Help get freshly roasted coffee to customers — accurately and on time — by running day-to-day pick/pack/ship operations and keeping our roastery organized and flowing. Open to part-time (fulfillment-focused) or full-time (fulfillment plus production support during slower stretches).
What You’ll Do
- Pick, pack, and ship online & wholesale orders with near-perfect accuracy.
- Verify items against packing slips; maintain lot/date accuracy (FIFO).
- Create, print, and void labels in shipping software (e.g., ShipStation/UPS/USPS).
- Label bags, apply date stamps, and stage orders for pickup.
- Receive and put away deliveries; assist with cycle counts and inventory organization.
- Keep work areas clean daily/weekly.
- Jump in where needed with a small, friendly team.
- Full-time only: Take ownership of inventory organization — keeping stock areas labeled, tidy, and easy for anyone to navigate, and assisting with cycle counts.
- Full-time only: Step into production work when fulfillment volume is light — operating weigh-and-fill machines, band sealers, blending to recipe, and supporting packaging runs.
What Success Looks Like (first 90 days)
- 99% order accuracy and on-time shipments.
- You can run the daily pack/ship workflow independently.
- Stock areas are tidy, labeled, and easy for anyone to use.
- Full-time hires: confident jumping between fulfillment and production tasks based on the day’s needs.
What You Bring
- Detail-oriented, team-first mindset; comfortable switching between tasks.
- Reliable and consistent — you show up when scheduled and own the work.
- Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs and stand for most of the day.
- Basic comfort with computers/spreadsheets/labels; you learn new tools fast.
Nice-to-Haves (not required)
- Experience with Shopify, ShipStation, or similar.
- Cafe/restaurant, or warehouse/fulfillment, experience.
- Pallet jack/forklift comfort (we’ll train/certify if needed).
- Strong basic math and counting accuracy.
- Inventory or cycle count experience.
Work Environment
Hands-on, fast-paced roastery with occasional temperature swings (warehouse doors, deliveries). Training provided.
Schedule & Pay
- Part-time: ~20 hours/week, flexible weekday schedule, daytime shift.
- Full-time: Monday–Friday, 35–40 hours/week, daytime shift — no nights, weekends, or holidays.
- Pay: $22.00/hour.
- Benefits: Free coffee and merchandise discounts for all team members. Full-time team members are also eligible for health insurance and paid time off after a 90-day probationary period.
Growth at Atomic
We love promoting from within. Full-time hires get hands-on production experience from day one, with room to grow into roasting and other parts of the business over time.
