I am working with a top-tier private equity/venture capital firm that is looking to hire a Valuations Manager to join its Portfolio Monitoring / Operations group.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong valuation background who wants a more high-visibility role focused on valuation review, portfolio analytics, reporting, process improvement, and technology / AI adoption across a large private company portfolio.
This is not just a heads-down modeling role. This person will help manage the day-to-day valuation process, review work prepared by an offshore team, partner with internal stakeholders, and help improve how the team uses data, AI tools, and automation.
What You’ll Do
• Manage the quarterly valuation process across a large portfolio of private companies
• Review valuation models and supporting workpapers for accuracy and consistency
• Coordinate with an offshore valuation team and review work prepared by others
• Analyze portfolio company performance, KPIs, financials, and valuation trends
• Research public market comps, sector trends, and valuation inputs
• Support portfolio analytics, reporting, fundraising / diligence requests, and ad hoc partner questions
• Work with option pricing models, waterfall analysis, public comps, and other private company valuation methods
• Help improve valuation processes, reporting templates, data quality, workflow, and use of technology
• Leverage AI tools and automation platforms, including Claude, ChatGPT, and similar tools, to create efficiencies and modernize the valuation process
What They’re Looking For
• 6 to 10 years of experience in valuation, portfolio monitoring, transaction advisory, financial modeling, investment analysis, PE / VC, fund finance, or a related area
• Strong valuation foundation, ideally including public comps, option pricing models, waterfall analysis, and private company valuation concepts
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
• Experience reviewing valuation work and managing deadlines
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work with large volumes of portfolio company data
• Interest in venture capital, private markets, technology, and high-growth companies
• Comfort with AI tools, automation, and process improvement is a strong plus

Salary : $160,000 - $200,000
