What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant (CT) position at Atlas Search?
We’re partnering with a growing, multi-entity professional services firm to hire a Senior Accountant for its consolidation team. This is a hands-on role. You’ll prepare the intercompany, elimination, and multi-currency entries yourself, help produce consolidated GAAP financial statements each close, and support integration work as the company continues to acquire. It’s a good fit for someone who wants to own the consolidation mechanics, not just run an automated process.
Compensation: $90,000 to $130,000
Location: Fairfield, CT (5 days/week onsite)
What You’ll Do
- Own key pieces of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for a multi-entity, multi-currency group
- Prepare and post journal entries, including intercompany, elimination, and foreign currency entries
- Reconcile intercompany balances and resolve differences across entities
- Assist with preparing consolidated financial statements, monthly analysis, and supplemental schedules
- Become a power user of the company’s ERP and dedicated consolidation platform, and look for ways to improve and automate the process
- Support the integration of acquired entities into the close and consolidation process
- Prepare schedules and support for interim and year-end audits
- Assist with local, state, and federal reporting requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3 years of accounting experience, including hands-on consolidation and intercompany work at the entry level
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
- Experience in a fully integrated ERP environment and advanced Excel skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently under close deadlines
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility to work extended hours during close periods
Preferred
- CPA
- Big 4 or mid-to-large public accounting experience, or corporate accounting experience at a mid-sized to large company
- Experience in professional services, construction, or project-based businesses
- Experience with a dedicated consolidation system or a project-based ERP
- Exposure to acquisition integrations or multi-currency reporting
