Our client, a pension organization in Manhattan, is hiring an Accounting Temp to help its loans and withdrawals team get member payouts processed accurately and on time.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile member transactions using the payroll reports run before and after each processing cycle
- Enter, review and validate withdrawal and loan disbursement requests, following set procedures
- Look into discrepancies, find what caused them and put fixes in place
- Audit and approve transactions handled by teammates, review why requests were rejected, update the system and send the right correspondence to members
- Answer questions from member-facing and internal teams, escalating complex cases when needed
- Work with the accounting group that handles payments so disbursements go out on schedule
Requirements
- A foundation in financial processes and accounting principles
- Background in accounting operations, financial services or pensions preferred
- Highly accurate, with close attention to detail
- Solid analytical and problem-solving ability
- Organized and good at managing time across several deadlines at once
- Able to set priorities and stay effective under pressure
- Proficient in accounting systems, or able to learn them quickly
