Java Developer – Asset Management / Credit (Contract)
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)
Type: Ongoing Contract (W2 only)

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to join the Asset Management Credit Technology team, supporting Credit Operations and Global Business Finance (Fund Finance / Controllers). This role focuses on building and enhancing mission-critical platforms that support the global credit investment, accounting, and operational processes.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys working in enterprise-scale environments and partnering closely with finance and operations teams.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services supporting credit operations and finance
- Write clean, scalable, well-tested code following best practices and internal standards
- Work with relational databases and large datasets, contributing to data models, queries, and performance optimization
- Support batch and real-time processing workflows
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Finance, and Technology
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and iterative delivery cycles
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of Java development experience in enterprise environments
- Strong experience with Spring / Spring Boot, RESTful services, and microservices architectures
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
- Understanding of the investment lifecycle and accounting concepts
- Prior experience in asset management, alternative investments, private credit, or financial services strongly preferred
